Requirement

The requirement was to eliminate the tailing dams which represent a high cost and may be very dangerous . A failure of the dam wall would have meant an \environmental disaster, polluting nearby water bodies and soil.

The iron-ore slimes to be treated have the following characteristics:Filtering temperature: 30 ° C

Granulometric distribution:

  • + 0.150mm = 2.41%
  • + 0.045mm = 5.00%
  • -0.045mm = 92.59%

Pulp density: 1,336 t / m³
Content of solids in pulp: 50.0%

Solution

Filtration Area: 732 m2 each Chamber thickness: 35 mm

  • Capacity 23,5 m3 per cycle
  • 47 tons per cycle dry basis
